Own an Etsy Store
Sell online without ever leaving your home.

Yeah, we’ve all heard of Etsy. But have you actually thought about starting your own store? There’s an almost unlimited number of things you can sell there. And it’s super simple to start up. You don’t even have to keep inventory if you don’t want to.
How to Start and Run a Successful Etsy Store: A Step-by-Step Guide
If you've ever dreamed of turning your handmade goods, vintage finds, or digital creations into a profitable side hustle—or even a full-time business—Etsy is a great place to start. With over 90 million active buyers, Etsy offers a powerful platform for creative entrepreneurs to reach a global audience. Here’s how you can start and run your own Etsy store successfully.
Step 1: Decide What to Sell
Start by identifying your niche. Etsy is known for:
Handmade goods (jewelry, clothing, art, candles, etc.)
Vintage items (must be at least 20 years old)
Craft supplies (fabric, beads, patterns)
Digital products (printables, templates, planners)
Tips:
Focus on products that you’re passionate about and that you can create or source consistently.
Research what’s trending on Etsy by exploring the marketplace or using tools like EtsyRank or Marmalead.
Step 2: Create an Etsy Account and Set Up Your Shop
Go to Etsy.com and follow these steps:
Click “Sell on Etsy” and set up a seller account.
Choose your shop name (up to 20 characters, unique, and memorable).
Set your shop preferences (language, country, and currency).
Upload a professional-looking profile picture and shop banner/logo.
Add a compelling shop bio and policies (shipping, refunds, FAQs).
